BOWLING QUESTIONS: 1st, has anybody ever heard of baking a ball? 2nd, Do all Lane 1 products track out...?
1st ? is I have seen a local pro but bowling balls in a Microwave, it extracts the oil. How do you do this? I am guessing you just don't throw a ball in and set it for 5 minutes? Is there specific settings, temp, time etc? 2nd ? has anybody else experienced Lane #1 products losing its power and hook after a few weeks of throwing it?
Your local pro was using a "Rejuvenator" oven, not a microwave. It is basically a table top oven that heats your ball causing it to sweat out excess oil that the coverstock has absorbed over the course of many games. You can duplicate this at home in your own oven, set it to about 200 and put your ball in. Be sure to have plenty of clean rags handy to wipe off the oil which you should do every 5-10 minutes until the ball stops sweating the oil. This could take a while depending on how many games you have thrown with the ball and what type of coverstock it has. You will definitely see a difference in the ball reaction after this is done.
As to your second question, I have never thrown Lane #1, can't help you there.
